Bugatti Veyron Crash Driver Walks Away

A 56-year-old man from Suffolk has walked away unharmed after crashing a £250,000 vintage Bugatti.

Mr Burgess, a racing enthusiast, was driving the 1924 model when it’s brakes failed during the Prescott Speed Hill Climb on the 2nd of June.

It is understood that upon approach of a hairpin bend, the vehicle began to tilt before it collided with a wall. Emergency services rushed to the aid of Mr Burgess, who was pulled from the wreckage before dusting himself off and deciding to sit the rest of the event out a bar with a beer.

He is reported as saying: 'I'm just irritated more than anything because it means I can't compete again until this one is repaired.'

It is thought that Mr Burgess’ helmet made contact with the wall thus saving his life in what could have been a fatal accident.
