What makes a country safe to drive in?
Many factors affect the safety of a countries roads, but less economically developed countries generally have higher numbers of road traffic accidents and fatalities. This can be due to a range of factors, including poorly maintained roads, a lack of safety standards for vehicles, and substandard driving rules. In some developing countries, some cars that are so at the lower end of the market would not pass safety tests in the UK.
