Motorists Paying Out for Non-Fault Accidents

New research from the RAC has shown that over a third of motorists lose out financially after a non-fault accident on the road.

The shocking figures follow a survey of 2,062 motorists, and show that as many as 36% are left out of pocket after a crash thanks to the fees and costs levied by their insurance company.

These additional costs include everything from the cost of hiring a replacement car whilst repairs are ongoing, the insurance policy excess, loss of earnings, and even the price of launching a personal injury claim.

Motorists surveyed by the RAC showed an average payout of £215, which was used to cover the above expenses. Furthermore, 41% revealed payments that fell between £150 and £349.
