Welsh Drivers are the Best Parkers

The people of Wales have been crowned the UK’s best parkers.

The careful car owners of Cymru came out on top of a nationwide survey, with only one in 100 motorists across Wales experiencing a parking accident. Scottish cars fared worse however, as 6% have had a bump in a car park.

Despite Scotland’s high crash rate, the UK emerged as having the most conscientious drivers in Europe, with a predisposition to neat and considerate parking. Germany France and Spain occupied the next three places on the list.

Only 10% of drivers in the UK, France and Spain have hit another parked car.

On the other side of the spectrum, drivers in Italy were most likely to hit another vehicle when parking, with a huge 50% admitting to a scrape in the last five years, and 25% having had a parking accident at some point in their lives

The most common cause of parking dings is reverse parking, accounting for 45% of such incidents across Europe and 51% in Italy
